The UCSC Copier Program…
provides high-quality, self-serve multifunctional devices to the campus community on a cost-per-copy basis. These devices are set up for access control and account management with Pharos Uniprint®, or as sole source copiers with no access control. We place Ricoh and Canon MFDs that offer black and white and/or color output (copy/print/fax), and all new devices are equipped as scanners. Other features are available upon request. For more information about the Copier Program have a look around our website, and feel free to call or email us with any questions or needs you may have: 831-459-5799, or copierprogram@ucsc.edu.
Our Mission
The Copier Program offers campus units state-of-the-art multifunctional devices and delivers exceptional customer service in support of UCSC students, staff, and faculty. We aim to keep our fleet as current as possible, our prices as low as possible, and our customers as happy as possible. In doing so we support UCSC’s mission to enable students to succeed while here at UCSC, and to prepare them for the challenges of the future.
Our Vision
As our customers’ satisfaction reflects the Copier Program’s success, we pride ourselves on bringing attention, empathy, and value to everything we do for our customers. The Copier Program seeks to become recognized as the benchmark of outstanding customer service across all of UCSC.
Our Community
As part of the UCSC campus community, the Copier Program shares core values that include a commitment to diversity, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship. Together we promote and protect a community that values and supports every person in an atmosphere of civility, honesty, cooperation, professionalism, and fairness. The UC Santa Cruz Principles of Community guide our daily interactions on campus and beyond.
Department News
We have a new Program Assistant!
In March, 2025, Annika Estrada joined Bill at the Copier Program. A recent graduate of UCLA, Annika has an outgoing personality matched with a quick wit, and both her computing and customer service backgrounds mean she is a serious asset to the program. We’re excited to have her onboard! Be sure to say hi when you see her around campus during her day-to-day operational duties.
Goodbye Baskin Engineering, Hello H Barn
After more than 30 years living in the basement of Baskin Engineering, the Copier Program is moving! Our new space will be in the old Risk Management space in the H Barn at the base of campus…if you’re facing Receiving/Surplus on the loading dock we’ll be in the suite of offices on the left end of the loading dock. We will move during the week of November 12, 2024; during that week, unfortunately, we will be even less available than we have been while we’re understaffed. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Pharos 9.2 Upgrade Completed!
Over Spring Break we successfully upgraded Pharos to version 9.2, which will allow us to place more advanced Canons on campus for Pharos users. Once we figure out how to do that so we can help people with issues found (there will be issues!) we will bring new Canons to campus to replace old devices that are past time for replacement. Thanks for your patience!
Pharos Upgrade Coming in March, 2023
Sometime between the middle and end of March we will be changing servers (on request of ITS). At the same time we will be upgrading from Pharos 9.1 to Pharos 9.2. We expect to have at least 4 hours of system down time; during that time no Pharos devices will be able to print, copy, or scan. We will be sending an email to affected staff/units after the first of March.
