At the Copier Program, we have not raised our per-copy prices since 2006. We’ve done this with a combination of excellent lease, purchase, and maintenance (per-click) pricing through UCOP contracts, working to find the best deals on the paper we supply, and by managing our fleet so appropriate devices are placed and moved within our program to the right customers.
With Pharos Uniprint® the Copier Program offers two different pricing groups, which depend upon the group status of the user:
- Faculty, Staff, and Student Employees (anyone charging on an associated FOAPAL) are charged 6¢ per black and white copy/print, and 18¢ per color copy/print.
- Students charging their Student Business Services account are charged 8¢ per black and white copy/print, and 24¢ per color copy/print.
Copiers that are not set up with Pharos Uniprint® (we call them “sole source” copiers) are each paid for by a single FOAPAL chosen by the unit responsible for paying for the copier; copies/prints/fax output are charged at 6¢ per black and white copy/print, and 18¢ per color copy/print.
All monthly minimum charges are calculated at 6¢ per copy to bring the number of copies/prints to the monthly minimum (i.e., if your device has a minimum of 2,300/month, and has usage of 2,100 in a given month, you are charged for 200 copies at 6¢/copy, or $12, for your minimum makeup charge).
There is currently no charge for scanning on Copier Program devices.
